Aged 16-25? Want to organise your own stage at a local music festival?

Love music?  Want to make new friends?

Thanks to a £4,000 grant from the v Project in association with GCap Media Charities, we are seeking up to 14 local young people aged 16-25 to organise their own stage (the V stage) for Sandford Festival 2008.

With support from our Volunteer Co ordinator, Roy "Stone" Naylor and the CRAMP committee, the group will be responsible for choosing and booking bands / musicians, designing and distributing posters and flyers, writing press releases, and organising staging, lighting, and a PA for the event.  There will also be opportunities for stewarding and other duties on the day itself.  The festival is planned for the weekend of 24th / 25th May.

This is a fantastic opportunity for local young people to gain experience of events management, marketing and PR, and for learning more about how the live music industry works.  Youth Achievement Awards will also be available for those who wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification.  The project may also be appropriate for any young people currently undertaking a Duke of Edinburgh Award.  Regardless of these extra accreditation opportunities, everyone who takes part will receive a certificate marking their efforts and achievement at the end of the project.

If you are interested in taking part in this exciting project, please e-mail stone@stonefree.org or call 01363 774496 or 07817 205529 with your name and contact details.  Our Volunteer Co ordinator will then be in touch to arrange a meeting in Crediton with all those interested, where you will be able to find out more.
