Are you a hard-working, fun-loving musician with a passion to share your skills and knowledge with young people? We are currently looking for a Music Workshop Assistant to assist and support the Project Leader in the delivery of "Band Lab" - a brand new music project based in Crediton.
Job Duties: Supervising and developing bands composed of teenage musicians aged 11-16, sharing knowledge and experience, providing guidance, feedback, suggestions, mentoring, teaching, studio recording assistance, live performance assistance, loading/unloading gear, assisting bands with songwriting, providing continuous encouragement, & having fun!
Hours of Work:
Mondays: 3.45pm - 6.45pm (term-time only)
PLUS
3 full days for recording in the Spring (dates tbc)
AND
1 full day / evening for rehearsal and public performance (date tbc)
Contract runs from 13th September 2010 - end of March 2011 (ie. 2 terms), although we may run a third term (until the middle of July) if the necessary funding can be secured.
Rate of Pay: £12.50 per hour (to include any planning / preparation time)
Requirements:
-Must have a background in music
-A good understanding of song composition, structure and arrangement
-Proficiency in at least one instrument (including vocals)
-Band experience preferred
-Experience working with children/teens preferred, but not essential
-Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check is a condition of employment
