Are you a musician aged 11-16? Then you need the Band Lab project!

GOOD NEWS! CRAMP have been granted funding by the Devon Community Foundation (Grassroots Fund) to launch Band Lab - a new and exciting music project for musicians aged 11-16, living in and around Crediton. The project will begin in September 2010, and will take place in Crediton.

Young musicians will work in two bands, writing and rehearsing original songs with the help of professional musicians. Songs will then be recorded in the studio and pressed to a CD. Participants will also get to perform their songs live at a public performance.

To apply for a place you should be aged 11-16 and be living within a 7 mile radius of Crediton.  Ideally you will have been playing your chosen instrument or singing for a minimum of one year, but this is not essential.

Places are strictly limited to 10 per term (over 2-3 terms). Those who are not successful for the first term will be put on a waiting list for a later term. Workshop sessions will take place on Monday evenings from 4pm-6.30pm. Amplifiers, PA, mics and drum kits all provided by the studio. We also have a limited budget for help with travel for those who live in villages or remote locations, and who would otherwise be unable to participate.

If you would like to apply for a place on the project, please send the following info by e-mail to: info@crampdevon.org

The project will cost £40 per term (this is greatly subsidised by grant funding), and will include all workshop sessions, studio recording, and the live performance.

Closing date for applications:  Friday 3rd September 2010.
